Gel Nail Manicure, Worth the Hype?

       For a school dance I went to go get my nails done going in wanting acrylic nails to get some length out of them. Talked into it, by flattery, I got the gel nails the one where they paint the nail and then stick it under a UV light. After my manicure I liked the end result, a simple French manicure with a glittery ring finger.  I immediately went home and did research as to what this offers over getting acrylic nails or just a normal manicure.

 Here's what I found: 

• It's long lasting
• They do not chip
• They are healthier for the natural nail than acrylics 
• They look more natural than acrylics
• cheaper 
• takes less time

Here's what I experienced the good:

• They do dry quickly
• They look like my natural nail because it is 
• It's healthier because it's nail polish not acrylic
• they last an incredible amount of time
• it did take about half the time of getting acrylic nails
• cost less 

The bad: 

• They chip!! I repeat they Chip like CRAZY
• even though they are "dry" I got bits and pieces stuck on them and I can't  scratch it off 

I did have my issues with this manicure but over all it's great! It's cheaper, better, and it will last a long time I love my nails and will definitely see what other colors my local nail salon has! Xx Lazylittleliz
