A Mod Evening

Bathroom glamour am I right? Sorry I had to sneak away from the party to get this picture and this was my best option

I recently took a little trip up north to New York City for my cousin's sweet 16 and I took this opportunity to do a little mod inspired outfit. I got this inspiration from Zoella's  blog post Pastel Hearts and Beach Huts ,where she was wearing a similar outfit with a pastel  pink dress and a floppy hat but obviously more suitable for daytime.

Letters to Autumn: 1

Dear Autumn,

We meet again,  I've always been the fondest of you, you bring multi-colored leaves and darker pastels that suit me better than the kight pastels of Summer. You make hot tea an appropriate drink in Florida, and cool things down just enough to be able to wear a sweater and a pair of boots and  not look like a complete fool even if it's just for a few days.
I am happier when you stop by, I feel settled in school and  take my chance to explore what my new school has to offer. I get to sit outside and feel the sweet wind blow away the smoke of my ever hard working brain, forever a studious girl even if it doesn't look like it.
You bring around multiple birthdays for mothers, sisters, and very good friends, their happiness is contagious during these times. I hope to do you justice Autumn I may not have brilliant writing skills but I do love when you're around and I do  know that nothing is ever certain until one outs words to it so here we go  Xx Lazylittleliz

Your Nails but Better ?

The trends have spoken bold nail colors are in and they shift for every season, summer and spring are easier to pull off because the colors are light and fun. Autumn and winter are a little harder to test out because they are darker and not every one is ready to try them. Other outside sources like jobs and schools can limit your options for the sake of professionalism. Lastly every once and a while we all like to take a break from bold colors but can't bare to just use a top coat for shine.

I got this Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure nail polish in the color 220 Arm candy and honestly it is basically your natural nail bed color but better. I have been enjoying this for a while now and since it is a thicker formula it doesn't chip as easily and it's a great fall back when I can't decide what nail color I want for the week and if I decide later on a different color it acts as a great base coat! It is similar to Essie's Ballet Slippers but it's about a dollar cheaper and has more product.

Is time for a bold color break?  Xx Lazylittleliz

How to Clean Your Make Up Brushes

I view cleaning my brushes as a new beginning, I get all the old dirty make up out of them, my white brushes end up being white again, my breakouts seem to "magically" stop afterwards and my eye shadows don't mix together. This is something that is essential to keep your products and face clean, but it's made out to look a lot harder than it actually is so let me break it down for you nice and simple. You will need...

  • Paper Towels
  • Mild or baby shampoo
  • water
  • your dirty brushes

The clean up:
  • Start with the smaller eye and face brushes as they use less soap, and work your way up to the bigger fluffier brushes
  • Pour a small amount of the shampoo into the palm of your hand take your brush and swirl it in there. you can swirl the brush up your forearm to see the brush actually getting clean and leaving the product behind
  • hold the brush bristles down and rinse it, your hand and/or arm and repeat if necessary
Drying:
  • Take a couple brushes at a time and squeeze the excess water out with the paper towels, be careful to not squeeze too hard
  • afterwards store them bristles down so water doesn't get into the fennel and loosen the glue and give them a good 8 hours to dry (over night is best)
I hope this makes brush cleaning easier for you guys, thanks for reading!

Favorite Fall Nail Polish Colors

In my constant pursuit of bringing autumn into Florida I have a little collection of nail polishes that I love to  wear every year that makes it feel a little more like Fall.

Starting from the index finger

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color- This is in 460 Save the Date and it's a really nice plum color with small shimmer bits

Mark- Saffron. burnt gold. lovely. moving on

Mark- (haha these two came in a little sample box and I love them both) This one is called Mint Tea. Olive green. gorgeous.

Lastly I have a CHI nail polish and I have no clue if they still make nail polishes because I got this at the GoodWill Oops.  it's one of my favorites called Late Night Dinner In Soho, an amazing navy and  if I'm ever in Soho SOMEONE PLEASE remind me to wear this nail polish regardless of season.

The color of the polish and the color of the print on the bottle don't mix :(

What are your favorite nail polishes for fall ? Xx Lazylittleliz
