A Rare Cold Day

2:45 PM Unknown 0 Comments

A  rare cold day in Florida can mean many things. To many it means that Ugg boots are appropriate (they never are in Florida lets be real here). Even more obscene amounts of pumpkin spice lattes are being consumed, and my personal favorite layering !!

Today I wore a dress from H&M
Can't seem to find it online but this is a similar one

I pulled over it my favorite sweater from Forever 21....
No link for this one sorry

Some deep red/ burgundy tights, I wish you (who ever you might be) could see the pattern on my tights I am obsessed !

Finally I put on my white converse

I really like layering shirts and sweaters over my dresses, it gives me a million and one more options for outfits. With this I realized that I do have some closet essentials it just takes some brain power and a long enough shirt to get them ;)

Lights all around

The parade is a huge deal here

How cute is my cousin?

My friends' outfits were on point
Sometimes it's okay to step back watch life happen for a little while, I had an interesting week to say the least. When it got really hectic I took some time to breathe and got to capture all of this.

Get a Quick Look! The Balm Nude Dude Palette

5:44 PM Unknown 0 Comments

yes I use my phone don't judge I've asked Santa for a camera

Walking around my local Khols store towards the end of my rather stressful Black Friday shopping I decided to treat myself after using up all the strength I had (bad idea if you have major anxiety) . lo and behold I saw the Nude'dude palette and it was love!!!

Packaging: The Packaging is slim, made of sturdy cardboard, has a big mirror and is a pale pink color. It gets dirty easily but it's great for travel so I don't mind the mess. The Balm have stuck with their pinup motif and used men this time,  my inner 13 year old can barely handle herself!

Top to Bottom : Fearless, Flawless, Fabulous, Faithful

Top to Bottom: Firm, Flirty, Fit, Feisty

Top to Bottom: Friendly, Fierce, Funny, Fine
The Shadows: If you are a mattes girl like I am you'll be a tad disappointed that this palette has only 4 mattes versus the 8 shimmers, but fear not it's not a complete glitter-fest many turn out to be lovely satin finishes. Most do show up on Indian skin tones, and Flawless is a superb transition shade.

Bonuses: This is sold in a set with a Body Builder Mascara and honestly it's nothing special. It's a very natural no makeup, makeup item. I still prefer my drugstore Maybelline Great Lash.

Overall: This is my first high-end makeup item, I am so happy! This is a hidden gem in the midst of the shopping chaos The Balm are kind of underrated, I haven't read or heard much about them. This also makes a nice little gift for someone who has been a VERY GOOD LITTLE ELF because it's expensive

Interested in the Nude'dude? let me know Xx Lazylittleliz

A Mod Evening

9:48 PM Unknown 2 Comments

Bathroom glamour am I right? Sorry I had to sneak away from the party to get this picture and this was my best option

I recently took a little trip up north to New York City for my cousin's sweet 16 and I took this opportunity to do a little mod inspired outfit. I got this inspiration from Zoella's  blog post Pastel Hearts and Beach Huts ,where she was wearing a similar outfit with a pastel  pink dress and a floppy hat but obviously more suitable for daytime.

Letters to Autumn: 1

5:51 PM Unknown 0 Comments

Dear Autumn,

We meet again,  I've always been the fondest of you, you bring multi-colored leaves and darker pastels that suit me better than the kight pastels of Summer. You make hot tea an appropriate drink in Florida, and cool things down just enough to be able to wear a sweater and a pair of boots and  not look like a complete fool even if it's just for a few days.
I am happier when you stop by, I feel settled in school and  take my chance to explore what my new school has to offer. I get to sit outside and feel the sweet wind blow away the smoke of my ever hard working brain, forever a studious girl even if it doesn't look like it.
You bring around multiple birthdays for mothers, sisters, and very good friends, their happiness is contagious during these times. I hope to do you justice Autumn I may not have brilliant writing skills but I do love when you're around and I do  know that nothing is ever certain until one outs words to it so here we go  Xx Lazylittleliz

Your Nails but Better ?

3:49 PM Unknown 0 Comments

The trends have spoken bold nail colors are in and they shift for every season, summer and spring are easier to pull off because the colors are light and fun. Autumn and winter are a little harder to test out because they are darker and not every one is ready to try them. Other outside sources like jobs and schools can limit your options for the sake of professionalism. Lastly every once and a while we all like to take a break from bold colors but can't bare to just use a top coat for shine.

I got this Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure nail polish in the color 220 Arm candy and honestly it is basically your natural nail bed color but better. I have been enjoying this for a while now and since it is a thicker formula it doesn't chip as easily and it's a great fall back when I can't decide what nail color I want for the week and if I decide later on a different color it acts as a great base coat! It is similar to Essie's Ballet Slippers but it's about a dollar cheaper and has more product.

Is time for a bold color break?  Xx Lazylittleliz

How to Clean Your Make Up Brushes

5:51 PM Unknown 0 Comments

I view cleaning my brushes as a new beginning, I get all the old dirty make up out of them, my white brushes end up being white again, my breakouts seem to "magically" stop afterwards and my eye shadows don't mix together. This is something that is essential to keep your products and face clean, but it's made out to look a lot harder than it actually is so let me break it down for you nice and simple. You will need...

  • Paper Towels
  • Mild or baby shampoo
  • water
  • your dirty brushes

The clean up:
  • Start with the smaller eye and face brushes as they use less soap, and work your way up to the bigger fluffier brushes
  • Pour a small amount of the shampoo into the palm of your hand take your brush and swirl it in there. you can swirl the brush up your forearm to see the brush actually getting clean and leaving the product behind
  • hold the brush bristles down and rinse it, your hand and/or arm and repeat if necessary
Drying:
  • Take a couple brushes at a time and squeeze the excess water out with the paper towels, be careful to not squeeze too hard
  • afterwards store them bristles down so water doesn't get into the fennel and loosen the glue and give them a good 8 hours to dry (over night is best)
I hope this makes brush cleaning easier for you guys, thanks for reading!

Favorite Fall Nail Polish Colors

8:25 PM Unknown 0 Comments

In my constant pursuit of bringing autumn into Florida I have a little collection of nail polishes that I love to  wear every year that makes it feel a little more like Fall.

Starting from the index finger

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color- This is in 460 Save the Date and it's a really nice plum color with small shimmer bits

Mark- Saffron. burnt gold. lovely. moving on

Mark- (haha these two came in a little sample box and I love them both) This one is called Mint Tea. Olive green. gorgeous.

Lastly I have a CHI nail polish and I have no clue if they still make nail polishes because I got this at the GoodWill Oops.  it's one of my favorites called Late Night Dinner In Soho, an amazing navy and  if I'm ever in Soho SOMEONE PLEASE remind me to wear this nail polish regardless of season.

The color of the polish and the color of the print on the bottle don't mix :(

What are your favorite nail polishes for fall ? Xx Lazylittleliz

High Contrast and Pastels

7:04 PM Unknown 0 Comments

Taking inspiration from the street style of NYFW l way back in February, I forgot how much I loved high contrast and mixing them with pastel colors it was a cool concept.

This outfit I like to call the "relationship" the dress is very girly and lovely. The bold contrast, structure and halter neck line gives it a bit of a 60's edge. The cardigan is a boyfriend style, it is  relaxed and the pale green softens it even more. I paired these with simple black flats there is enough going on up top.
Thank you to my friend Chance (juju) for taking the full length shots.
Thank you love you lots!

Dress: Papaya

Cardigan: J Crew

Disney, Plaid, and White Converse

4:20 PM Unknown 0 Comments

I love Disney, plaid, and my converse,  so  I found a way to wear all three at the same time. This is a more grungy look than I am used to and I really liked how.it came out. This is a good way to wear a crop top without it being too obvious, pair it with a skater skirt or a high wasted skirt so the belly button is covered up and its a lot more forgiving plus its Disney. Any pattern for the skirt  would have worked but I couldn't resist the plaid. Since it seems to be a new trend, I love this skirt,  and I was at school why not . Lastly I wore white converse and I look at it as an added stress. I love them don't get me wrong but since they are stark white I am always super careful to avoid not walking on a side walk or an unclean surface. I'm really happy my black converse were drying from the wash because the white  added brightness to what is a darker outfit for me.
Crop top: Forever 21

Skirt: Ross

Shoes (shock horror): Converse

Besides this being a cute outfit it is amazingly comfortable and perfect for school, also editing the top picture I never knew my hair was a brownish color at the tips that's awesome!

New beginnings and Miami haul!

11:38 PM Unknown 1 Comments

Since my last overly dramatic post ( blame the teenage angst) I got a new phone with an AMAZING camera. It came just in time for my weekend in Miami so of course I'm going to test it out A LOT.

Let's start with the most expensive because the Dash Miami store is ridiculous I got the 2 cheapest items because there was no way I was going to track this store down and leaving empty handed. The lipgloss is actually really lovely and the beenie is a beenie its a little warm for the Floridian weather but hopefully I'll get some use out of it.

Then on Calle Ocho is wear I found the best thing ever..... SHOES! I got 3 pairs, 2 pairs of fake suede wedges ( I'm "sharing" them with my sister) and then these black wedge sandals with a pop of color on the front strap. Now I'm not used to having sandals like these so I do have to practice around the house but I live in eternal heat so I wont be missing out.

After this trip I am ready to take on college, I'm happy to be back with this new amazing camera just in time for fall Xx Lazylittleliz

Acrylic nails worth the hype?

5:44 PM Unknown 0 Comments

A few months back I wrote a post about the gel nail manicure and if it was worth the hype surrounding it. For prom I decided to try acrylics to have a complete opinion over which mani I like best.

Here's what I found :

  • They damage the nail
  • expensive
  • polishes last longer
  • great for nail art
What I  Like:

  • Makes the nail bigger
  • polishes last longer
  • hard to break or chew off
  • I was expecting major damage it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be
What I Don't Like:

  • Expensive to get on
  • High maintenance
  • hard to refill at home
  • they do look overly fake
  • some damage to the nail
Overall
I really like these nails, the damage to the nail isn't horrible my nails are brittle and weak already I'm used to it and I've tried countless treatment to no avail. Yes it's expensive but to me it's worth it. I prefer it to the gel nails which one do you prefer ?

P.S. I've been in a writer's block and I just now have posts lined up and ready
